…Here’s the news…

Vancouver, British Columbia – June 14, 2018 – Auryn Resources Inc. (TSX: AUG, NYSE American: AUG) (“Auryn” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that high-resolution till sampling has become an integral layer of data for six targets at Committee Bay, Nunavut. These targets include the already disclosed Aiviq sampling, which was drilled in 2017.

The gold assay results from the high-resolution (100 meter by 100 meter spacing) till surveys across nine regional targets (Figure 1) demonstrate greater precision for identifying the potential source areas of high-grade gold mineralization seen throughout the belt. The results of the surveys have delineated gold-in-till anomalies that are consistent with the size of potential deposit footprints and will form the basis of future drill campaigns at Committee Bay.

A Message from Auryn’s Executive Chair:

Executive Chairman and Director Ivan Bebek stated, “These results significantly improve our level of understanding of the 300km long Committee Bay gold project and better positions us for potential discovery. The tighter-spaced till sampling has demonstrated just how close we were to the potential sources of gold during the 2017 drill campaign.”

Mr. Bebek further stated, “We are looking forward to confirming our theory in our 2018 drill program, which we are currently planning.”

The Use of High-Resolution Tills to Redefine Targets:

Originally, the high-resolution tills were collected during the 2017 summer exploration program to be analyzed using portable X-Ray fluorescence technology. After receiving the results from the Aiviq discovery drill hole (12.2 meters at 4.7g/t Au), Auryn sent the high-resolution tills to ALS laboratories for ICP to analyze for gold. The gold results demonstrated that the high-grade discovery drill hole spatially overlapped with the gold results from the high-resolution tills. In addition, these results also redefined targets that had not been adequately drilled in 2017 (Figure 2).

Five of the nine regional targets have returned discrete new gold targets from the high-resolution tills. These incl ude the Koffy, Kalulik, Aarluk, Kanosak, and Castle Rock target areas (Figures 3 – 7).

A Message from Auryn’s Chief Geologist:

Michael Henrichsen, COO and Chief Geologist stated, “Auryn’s technical team considers the high-resolution till data as a critical step in our exploration process to delineate source areas of gold mineralization under till cover. Ultimately, we feel the drill results from the 2017 summer campaign did not explain the strength of a number of the till anomalies associated with high-grade gold in boulders. We feel the new high-resolution gold-in-till results will lead us to the bedrock sources of mineralization.”

Michael Henrichsen, P.Geo, COO of Auryn, is the Qualified Person who assumes responsibility for the technical disclosures in this press release.

2017 pXRF tills Au assay – Samples (250g) of unweathered till were collected from 20-30cm depth in frost boils at 100m sample spacing. Pebbles (>1cm) were removed in the field. Samples were not collected in areas of glaciofluvial or fluvial reworking. Collected samples were sent to ALS Laboratories in Vancouver BC for preparation and analysis. All samples are screened using 600µm screen and analyzed using 50g nominal weight trace level Au by aqua regia extraction and ICP-MS finish method (Au-TL44) on a -600µm fraction. Big Al’s best reads – Wed 13 Jun, 2018

By Big Al Remember what Nemorovski said about doing away with the two party system? Here is what The New York Times now says.

US could use an overhaul of its parties and politics

New York Times

There are a bunch of different ways to do democracy. In Western Europe, most countries have proportional representation and a lot of different parties representing voter interests. In this country we’ve gone with a two-party system and winner-take-all elections.

During the middle of the 20th century, it seemed like we’d chosen the right approach. The proportional multiparty system allowed an extremist named Adolf Hitler to rise to power with the initial support of a tiny fraction of Germany’s voters. Both American parties, meanwhile, seemed to bend toward compromise, knowing they had to win over the median voter in order to get to 50.1 percent majorities.

But even then, as Lee Drutman of the think tank New America points out, America really had a four-party system. There were liberal Republicans from places like the Northeast and conservative Republicans from the West. There were liberal Democrats on the coasts and conservative Democrats from the South. The four groups floated into different legislative coalitions depending on the issue and the moment, allowing for flexible bipartisan majorities.

Now the two-party system has rigidified and ossified. The two parties no longer bend to the center. They push to the extremes, where the donor bases and their media propaganda arms are. More and more people feel politically homeless, alienated from both parties and without any say in how the country is run.

Moreover, the whole way of practicing politics has been transformed. Each party imagines that it is one wave election from destroying the other side and gaining total power. Therefore, as Drutman notes, there’s no interest in compromise, just winning and losing, gloating and seething.

Partisans’ chief interest is in proving that the other party is despicable – in ramping up fear, hatred and the negative polarization that is the central feature of contemporary American politics.

The result is that people, especially the young, lose faith in democratic norms altogether. There are more than 6,000 breweries in America, but when it comes to our politics, we get to choose between Soviet Refrigerator Factory A and Soviet Refrigerator Factory B.

The good news is that we don’t have to live with this system. There’s nothing in the Constitution that says there have to be only two parties. There’s nothing in the Constitution about parties at all. There’s not even anything in the Constitution mandating that each congressional district have only one member and be represented by one party. We could have a much fairer and better system with the passage of a law.

The way to do that is through multi-member districts and ranked-choice voting. In populous states, the congressional districts would be bigger, with around three to five members per district. Voters would rank the candidates on the ballot. If no candidate had a majority of first-place votes, then the candidate with the fewest first-place votes would be eliminated. Voters who preferred that candidate would have their second-choice vote counted instead. The process would be repeated until you get your winners.

This system makes it much easier for third and fourth parties to form, because voting for a third party no longer means voting for one with no chance of winning. You get a much more supple representation of the different political tendencies that actually exist in the country.

Ryan Ko elaborates on recent news from Corvus Gold – Wed 13 Jun, 2018

By Big Al

Corvus Gold Press Release issued June 13, 2018

Corvus Gold, Drills 18.3 Metres @ 4.02 g/t Gold, West Zone Stepout Hole, Mother Lode Project, Nevada

Vancouver, B.C… Corvus Gold Inc. (“Corvus” or the “Company”) – (TSX: KOR, OTCQX: CORVF) announces it has received further results from its resource expansion drilling program on the western and eastern sides of the Mother Lode deposit (Figure 1). The western expansion zone hole ML18-067 returned 18.3 metres @ 4.02 g/t gold, intersecting the Main Zone in the western most hole reported to date (Table 1). Additionally, within the same hole a continuation of the expanding lower grade oxide zones above the higher grade Main Zone were displayed with separate intercepts of 25.9m @ 0.68 g/t gold & 30.5m @ 0.67 g/t gold. This hole along with hole ML18-060 (24.4m @ 3.1 g/t gold), drilled 70 metres to the northeast, continue to show the trend of increasing grade as we drill to the west, outlining a new high-grade center to the deposit.

The results from the east side of the deposit have shown a continuation of mineralization to the northeast along the projection of the Fluorspar Canyon Fault (FCF) as illustrated by hole ML18-064 (10.7m @ 1.42 g/t gold). In addition, hole ML18-066 has extended the near surface eastern higher-grade zone to the south of previous hole ML18-046 (30.5m @ 2.05 g/t gold) outlining some early opportunity expansion for the future mine plan.

With the continued success of the Mother Lode drill program and as a result of the Company’s recent financing (CDN$4.5M @ $2.60/share, see press release dated June 7, 2018) the phase III program is currently being planned to complete 30,000 metres of resource stepout drilling beginning in early September. With the current phase II drill program, extending through August the project will now have continuous drilling activity for the foreseeable future.

Jeff Pontius, President and CEO of Corvus states “The new stepout results to the west and east at Mother Lode continue to show an expanding deposit. The result in hole ML18-067 continue to highlight increasing grade to the west and at depth along the main north northeast, west dipping, FCF/dike trend. This expanding high-grade center appears to the primary feeder structure for the Mother Lode deposit and has potential at depth to transition into a larger deposit. This large deep target will be tested in the phase three program with a series of deep core holes with what we believe is the potential to significantly change the scope of the Mother Lode deposit.”
