The person who led GT Gold’s discovery of the high-grade precious metals zone in British Columbia’s Golden Triangle has joined the board of an explorer with three prospective projects in British Columbia.
Shamrock Enterprises Inc. (SRS:CSE) recently announced the appointment of Charles J. Greig, P.Geo, to its Board of Directors.
Greig brings a wealth of experience to the company. He is well versed in mining in British Columbia; he currently serves as the vice president of exploration for GT Gold, where he directed the exploration that recently discovered the high-grade Saddle zone on the Tatogga project in B.C’s Golden Triangle.
Other Golden Triangle projects that Greig has been involved with includes Pretium’s Brucejack Mine, IDM Mining’s Red Mountain Gold Project, Westmin and Ascot’s Silbak Premier Mine and HDI-Amerc’s IKE Copper Project.
Greig’s experience is not confined to Canada. He has also worked on La India in Mexico and Bisha in Eritrea.
Shamrock Director Scott Ansell stated that Charles Greig “is a high-quality person and an excellent geologist. We greatly appreciate the value he brings to Shamrock with his vast knowledge and experience with the geology and exploration of British Columbia and Yukon. Shamrock looks forward to introducing his expertise to all our projects as we move forward with our exploration programs in the next few months.”
Shamrock has three projects in British Columbia: the Stellar Project, located in the Bulkley Valley, 40 km southwest of Houston, B.C.; the Topley Richfield Project, also in the Bulkley Valley, 100 km southeast of Smithers, B.C.; and the Portland Project in the Golden Triangle.
All three of Shamrock’s prospects are located close to other prospective projects.
The Stellar project surrounds on three sides ML Gold Corp.’s Stars property, where in February ML Gold announced a new discovery with 204 meters of 0.5% Copper equivalent. The company believes it is a significant porphyry copper-molybdenum discover.
Topley Richfield is the site of historical mining and the land is host to old mine workings, shafts, trenches and drilling. A historical, 1988 reserve claims 170,000 tonnes grading 3.5 g/t gold and 161 g/t silver.
The Portland Project combines 16 mineral claims in the Golden Triangle; the area, called “Elephant Country,” features Seabridge Gold’s KSM project with Proven and Probable resources of 38 million ounces of gold and 10 billion pounds of copper, as well as Pretium’s Brucejack with reserves of 8.7 million ounces of gold. The past-producing Eskay Creek deposit produced over 160 million ounces of silver and 3 million ounces of gold.
