queb140Eagle Hill Exploration (CVE:EAG) (OTCQX:EHECF) has started its proposed 2,800 metre drilling program at its Windfall Lake gold project, aimed at extending the gold mineralization at depth below the main zone at the property.

The company said Tuesday it is planning to deepen six existing drill holes into a target zone at approximately 800 metres vertical depth that is currently untested.

Geological studies suggest that gold mineralization hosted by zone 27 and the Caribou zone may have been displaced as much as 600 metres to the northeast below the Red Dog intrusion, which also coincides with an IP anomaly found below Red Dog, according to Eagle Hill’s statement released earlier today.

The company said the recent reinterpretation suggests that mineralization intersected last year below Red Dog corresponds to the depth extension of the Caribou lens, and as a result, zone 27, which hosts the majority of gold identified to date at the deposit, is interpreted to lie further north and will be tested with this new drilling campaign.
