Anglo Asian Mining reported record quarterly gold production of 20,242 ounces from its flagship Gedabek mine in Azerbaijan on Thursday, prompting its shares to soar over 6%.
Production from Gedabek, the only modern gold mine in Azerbaijan, in the three months to 30 September was more than double the 8,912 ounces reported in the second quarter.
The huge increase was due to the new Agitation Leaching Plant, commissioned in June, which contributed 14,138 to the third-quarter total.
