Former South African Reserve Bank (SARB) chief economist and executive GM Dr Monde Mnyande passed away on August 2 following a short illness. Mineral Resources and Energy Minister Gwede Mantashe on August 3 said Mnyande joined the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) team when he was appointed chairperson of the Central Energy Fund (CEF) in October 2019.
