First of all, my apologies and rationale to both James aka Franky and Out of the Box Jerry. I put both of you in the Spam category because of some comments that were made that I was offended by. I was simply being short sighted.
All I would ask of you James is that you refrain from making personal comments about any of the personalities who I talk with on the air. I talk with each of of these people because I personally find them to be interesting and I do learn from them. Please also do not make any negative comments about the Church that I attend.
To all of you, regarding negative comments pertaining to Israel, I and my Jewish and Muslim friends are certainly willing to listen to anyone who offers criticism to either group.
My personal opinion and stance, for the record, on this issue is as follows:
The Jews did not steal this land from anyone else. They settled there specifically because of the actions of three other countries which history shows are America; England; and, France.
The people who are generally referred to as Arabs have every right to be angry as they were not part of the decision to “give” the land to Israel. The subsequent actions on the part of the Jews were defensive in nature. I personally would not act any differently if some outsider tried to steal or burn me out of my home.
On the other hand, if my cottage sits on or was stolen from an Indian Tribe, which probably was the case, I personally would be very concerned. Since that happened way before my lifetime, I agree that an injustice was done. Today putting that toothpaste back in the tube is not an option. The government that stole the land needs to make it right.
In the case of Israel and the rest of The Middle East I believe that a grievous injustice was committed on the part of the international community of the time. The International Community is clearly to blame. It has a lot of blood on its hands from the numerous deaths that have occurred in The Middle East.
Our site should be known as a site where “fairness and truth” prevail. Blaming either the Arabs or the Jews is not fair because both sides have a valid point.
So, in summary open discussion about events in The Middle East is fine , but let’s level venom and blame where they should be leveled given the total context of the issue.
