Lynas reports strong quarter, applies for leeway in Malaysia

Rare earths miner Lynas has applied for approval to operate its Lynas Advanced Materials Plant, in Malaysia, as that country extends its lockdown amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Lynas in March temporarily suspended operations at its Malaysian plant as part of a country-wide initiative to halt the spread of the pandemic. The Malaysian government subsequently extended its Movement Control Order from March 31 until April 14.
