A study being undertaken by platinum group metals (PGM) mining company Royal Bafokeng Platinum (RBPlat) into the generation of renewable energy in general and solar power in particular is at a very advanced stage. “We should have the results in the second half of this year, if not earlier,” RBPlat CEO Steve Phiri tells Mining Weekly.
