The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa) on Monday hosted the last of its public hearings on Eskom’s regulatory clearing account (RCA) application for the 2018/19 financial year, with various organisations having expressed their opposition to the granting of further tariff increases for the utility. Eskom is seeking to claw back R27.3-billion through the RCA application, which will result in an electricity tariff hike of between 12% and 17%.
