Platinum group metals miner Anglo American Platinum (Amplats) has confirmed that Royal Bafokeng Platinum (RBPlat) has paid it the R1.85-billion still owed to it for the sale of its 33% interest Bafokeng Rasimone joint venture (BRPM JV). RBPlat had paid Amplats an initial R555-million in cash for its stake in the BRPM JV and, on January 30, settled the balance.
