The Queensland Department of Resources, Mines and Energy has filed charges against the BMA joint venture (JV) vehicle and a representative alleging breaches of statutory safety and health obligations, which resulted in the death of Allan Houston at the Saraji coal mine, on New Year’s Eve in 2018. Houston was operating a bulldozer at the Sataji mine site when the accident occurred.
