The US is encouraging African countries to consider importing its abundant supplies of liquefied natural gas (LNG), as it expects its production to more than double within the next few years. US Department of Energy assistant secretary Steven Winberg this week said African countries should consider importing US gas while they prepare to develop their own natural gas production.
