With the quartz mining licence and water licence in hand, Vancouver-based Golden Predator Mining has provided an update on progress at its Brewery Creek gold mine. The former heap leach producer is located 55 km east of Dawson City.
The company says full redevelopment work will begin in 2020. A three-phase approach is planned, beginning with the existing heap leach as the first phase. Meanwhile, an exploration program is underway to expand and upgrade the resources.
Golden Predator has commissioned a metallurgical program to determine the optimal crushing size for the heap. The existing infrastructure is being assessed for its suitability. Topsoil has been cleared from the old heap leach for access to the material and to facilitate accurate sampling. The camp capacity and utilities are being expanded to accommodate a total of at least 75 people at the site. Previous mine planning has been reviewed and that has led to a phased mining approach.
The company has also issued a request for proposal for a feasibility study that covers reprocessing of the leach pad. An updated 43-101 technical report is also underway and due in Q1 2020.
