Minergy upbeat on Southern African industrial coal demand growth

Coal miner Minergy, which recently started production at its Masama mine, in Botswana, is confident of growing demand for industrial coal in Southern Africa. Reporting on the company’s financial and operational results for the financial year ended June 30, on Wednesday, CEO Morné du Plessis said that South Africa’s coal production was largely static and that no new significant greenfield operations were being developed.
