Australia says its aluminium exports to US are fair after report Trump considered tariffs

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Monday said aluminium exporters are complying with the terms of a deal with the United States after the New York Times reported President Donald Trump had considered imposing tariffs on Canberra.

The New York Times, citing unidentified sources, said Trump had been urged to impose tariffs on Australian steel and aluminium in response to an increase in exports of aluminium to the United States over the past year.
