Mining technology provider MineWare and equipment manufacturer Komatsu launched in Germany their first factory-fitted payload management system called Argus PLM.
In a media statement, the companies explained that the system is an original equipment manufacturer or OEM version of the Argus monitoring system that MineWare designed exclusively for the Komatsu range of hydraulic excavators. The updated solution, however, is capable of lowering cost per tonne as it helps miners increase the productivity and efficiency of their loading tool.
“By uniting Komatsu and MineWare capabilities we’re offering customers the opportunity to have production improvement technology fully integrated with the machine,” said MineWare Vice President of Marketing and Sales Roy Pater, in the media brief. “Argus PLM enables OEMs, like Komatsu, to deliver a superior and unrivaled machine for the mining industry while also shifting technology development further towards tele-remote and autonomous mining operations.”
Pater explained that Argus PLM, which will be available on all new Komatsu PC7000-11 models, integrates seamlessly with the heavy machinery manufacturer’s Komtrax operating system and then shows up on the onboard display. The solution then delivers actionable production information in real time from the machine to the operator. If the mine site has suitable connectivity, the information can be also transmitted back to the site office.
