Mining taxes and royalties added A$30.6bn to Australian coffers last year

A new report by advisory firm Deloitte Access Economics has shown that Australian mining companies paid some A$30.6-billion in company tax and royalties in 2017/18.

The report, commissioned by the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA), noted that Australian miners paid A$18.6-billion in company tax during this period, which was up from the A$15.4-billion during the height of the resources boom in 2011/12.
