Gary M. Galles is a professor of economics at Pepperdine University, where he is in his 35th year. For 20 of those years, he also taught at UCLA, where he got his Ph.D. in 1988.Gary M. Galles is a professor of economics at Pepperdine University, where he is in his 35th year. For 20 of those years, he also taught at UCLA, where he got his Ph.D. in 1988. He is an adjunct scholar at the Ludwig von Mises Institute, a research fellow at Independent Institute and a member of the Foundation for Economic Education faculty network. He has also conducted research for the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association.

He has testified before multiple committees in the California legislature and has made many appearances on radio, television, and online media.

Galles’ research specializes in the fields of public finance, public choice, economic education, the theory of the firm, antitrust economics, urban economics, educating the public more accurately about liberty, and the misleading premises that shape public policy.

His books include Lines of Liberty (2016), Faulty Premises, Faulty Policies(2014), and Apostle of Peace (2013).
