Peru’s environmental regulator OEFA has concluded that mining waste from Southern Copper Corp’s Cuajone unit did not spill into the environment during heavy rains last week.
OEFA said in a statement late Tuesday that it was still supervising operations at Cuajone but had ruled out any tailings spill.
