Newmont Mining Corp. (NYSE: NEM) is encouraged by the exploration potential of some of the properties that it will acquire from Goldcorp Inc. (TSX: G, NYSE: GG), assuming that a planned merger goes through, says Gary Goldberg, Newmont’s chief executive officer.
