The Vancouver-based firm is expanding its team and leveraging its technical expertise.

Advantage Lithium Corp. (AAL:TSX.V; AVLIF:OTCQX) announced in a news release it hit another milestone in the development of its Cauchari project in Argentina by contracting with GHD S.A. in Chile to carry out early engineering work needed for the feasibility study, which remains on track to be finished on time, in June 2019.

“With this engagement and with the benefit of experience from [Orocobre’s] Olaroz lithium facility, Advantage can proceed expeditiously through to the feasibility study, eliminating the need for an intermediate preliminary feasibility study,” founder and CEO David Sidoo said in the release.

The feasibility study will outline an effective engineering design for a standalone facility to produce 20,000 tons per annum of lithium.

In other news, Andy Robb, vice president of development, has assembled a group of professionals to develop “a project of this magnitude in the time frame we envisage,” Sidoo described. The company aims to produce first lithium at Cauchari in Q3/21. New additions to the Advantage team include an environmental services manager, a senior project scheduler and a site manager.

Advantage’s phase 3 drilling program continues. Once completed, the results will be incorporated into an updated resource estimate, due out in Q1/19, which, Robb said, “is expected to bring our resources into the Measured and Indicated categories.”
