Gold has seen a steady uptrend, but investors should still pay careful attention to macroeconomic forces, says Juan Carlos Artigas, director of investment research at the World Gold Council.

(Kitco News) – Slowing momentum in the U.S. manufacturing sector is not helping to relieve any pressure in the gold market with prices relatively unchanged on the day.

Hecla Mining Co. (NYSE: HL) reports higher silver reserves at its Greens Creek Mine in Alaska and increased gold reserves at Casa Berardi in Quebec.
