(Kitco News) – Renewed interest in gold in two important markets will help reverse the precious metal’s fortunes in 2019, according to one Dutch Bank.

Gold prices are modestly down in early-afternoon U.S. trading on a quieter Wednesday, on some normal backing and filling on the charts following recent good gains that pushed prices to a five-week high on Tuesday.

Commerzbank looks for most precious metals to strengthen in 2019, with the exception of high-flying palladium, which the German bank says may be due for a correction lower.
