The mine, co-owned by Glencore (LON:GLEN) and Anglo American (LON:AAL), is the <a class=\"colorbox\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mining.com\/these-10-mines-will-set-the-copper-price-for-the-next-decade\/\">second largest copper mine in the world<\/a> and one of Chile&#8217;s largest, producing 506,500 tonnes of the red metal in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The <a class=\"colorbox\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mining.com\/world-no-3-copper-mine-collahuasi-and-workers-settle-differences-54050\/\">four-year deal reached in 2013<\/a> gave workers a 3.5% salary hike, a $31,900 bonus and a loan worth $6,000.
