Nearly three stymying months in office, Trump strikes us as a man fixing to get something done.<\/p>\n

First health care flopped.<\/p>\n

And tax reform \u2014 the kind Wall Street pinned its hopes upon \u2014 may soon follow.<\/p>\n

House Speaker Paul Ryan said yesterday that tax reform will take even longer than health care. Worse, he said Trump and Congress were actually closer on health care than on taxes.<\/p>\n

That’s two major tests \u2014 health care and taxes \u2014 flunked. For now at least.<\/p>\n

And so the blush comes off the peach.<\/p>\n

But is Trump about to seek victory on another front\u2026 even if it means unintentionally aligning with ISIS?<\/p>\n

We investigate the possibility today.<\/p>\n

But first a check on the races\u2026<\/p>\n

Stocks closed lower yesterday after minutes from the Fed’s most recent confab. They suggested the Fed might soon start paring back its market-supporting $4.5 trillion balance sheet.<\/p>\n

The Dow was up nearly 200 points at one point yesterday before ending the day down 41 \u2014 its largest intraday reversal since February 2016.<\/p>\n

But that was yesterday.<\/p>\n

Stocks are back in the money today. Dow up 15. S&P up five. Nasdaq up 14.<\/p>\n

Oil’s up about 50 cents. And gold?<\/p>\n

Up $6.10, to $1,251.50.<\/p>\n

Just another day at the track.<\/p>\n

But a worrying idea comes to us today\u2026<\/p>\n

Will Trump try to divert the crowd’s attention from his legislative setbacks\u2026 with a foreign adventure?<\/p>\n

An apparent chemical weapons attack killed at least 100 in Syria Tuesday. It sickened many more.<\/p>\n

Pictures of dead children pricked the conscience.<\/p>\n

Tellingly, Trump’s secretary of state, Rex Tillerson, said yesterday there was \u201cno doubt\u201d who was responsible.<\/p>\n

That would be Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.<\/p>\n

Trump also blamed the attack on Assad. \u201cReprehensible,\u201d he called it. \u201cHeinous.\u201d<\/p>\n

And now Trump’s got his back up high and stiff.<\/p>\n

Trump campaigned against removing Assad from power. ISIS was the real enemy, not Assad. But now he snorts that the attack, quote, \u201ccrossed a lot of lines for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI will tell you that attack on children yesterday had a big impact on me \u2014 big impact,\u201d Trump thundered. \u201cMy attitude toward Syria and Assad has changed very much\u2026 You’re now talking about a whole different level.\u201d<\/p>\n

Be it so.<\/p>\n

But how do they know Assad was even responsible?<\/p>\n

We realize Trump fires first and asks questions later. But a proper investigation of the incident would take weeks\u2026 months.<\/p>\n

Not one day.<\/p>\n

A 2013 chemical attack in Ghouta, Syria, killed up to 1,729 people. The Deep Staters and their drummers in the mainstream press tried to blame that attack on Assad.<\/p>\n

But the case hung the jury.<\/p>\n

Just not enough evidence. In fact, independent sources offered solid forensics suggesting Assad wasn’t responsible at all\u2026 but a rebel group angling to frame him (see below for more).<\/p>\n

Now\u2026 maybe Assad is actually responsible for this latest incident.<\/p>\n

(Our agents haven’t arrived on scene yet. So we have no answers at this time.)<\/p>\n

But we must concede\u2026 the whole story sounds a bit hollow in our ears.<\/p>\n

All the analysts say Assad’s winning the war against ISIS and the other rebel \u2026read more<\/a> <\/p>\n
