Newcrest has announced the appointment of Tom Dixon to the role of Head of Investor Relations and Media, effective October 1.<\/p>\n
Dixon joins Newcrest from Oz Minerals where he led the Investor Relations function through a significant period of transformation, earning positive recognition of the Investor Relations function from investors and analysts which culminated in him receiving the Australasian Investor Relations Association Award for “Most Progress in Investor Relations by an Australasian Company” in 2019.<\/p>\n
Prior to his career in the mining and resources sector, Dixon developed a strong understanding of equity markets through his experience as a buy-side analyst with a fund manager and as a sell-side analyst with Goldman Sachs, as well as general financial and commercial experience as a finance manager for an energy company and as a management consultant with KPMG.
