{"id":1200515,"date":"2020-08-07T12:13:34","date_gmt":"2020-08-07T17:13:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/?p=1032086"},"modified":"2020-08-07T12:13:34","modified_gmt":"2020-08-07T17:13:34","slug":"mining-people-barrick-fjordland-goldmining-marathon-gold-minera-alamos-superior-gold-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/juniorminingnews.com\/?p=1200515","title":{"rendered":"MINING PEOPLE: Barrick, Fjordland, GoldMining, Marathon Gold, Minera Alamos, Superior Gold"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Management appointments announced this week include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Carmen Amezquita<\/strong>&nbsp;has been named CFO of&nbsp;<strong>Amerigo Resources<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Barrick Gold<\/strong>&nbsp;has announced appointments to its exploration team:&nbsp;<strong>Aoife McGrath<\/strong>&nbsp;has been named VP of exploration for Africa and Middle East and&nbsp;<strong>Leandro Sastre<\/strong>&nbsp;is now VP of exploration for Latin America and Asia Pacific.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anthony Paterson<\/strong>&nbsp;has been appointed CEO and president of&nbsp;<strong>District Mines<\/strong>;&nbsp;<strong>Marc Branson<\/strong>&nbsp;has resigned as the company\u2019s CEO and president but will continue to serve as a member of the board.<\/p>\n<p><strong>James Tuer<\/strong>&nbsp;is now the president, CEO and a director of&nbsp;<strong>Fjordland Exploration<\/strong>, replacing&nbsp;<strong>Richard<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Atkinson<\/strong>&nbsp;who is now chairman of the board.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Josephat Zvaipa<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>Galiano Gold\u2019s<\/strong>&nbsp;COO, has passed away due to complications associated with the COVID-19 virus. The Asanko gold mine JV will to be managed by&nbsp;<strong>Fred Attakumah<\/strong>, executive VP and managing director of Asanko Gold Ghana.<\/p>\n<p><strong>David Garofalo<\/strong>&nbsp;has been named chairman, CEO and a director of&nbsp;<strong>GoldMining\u2019s<\/strong>&nbsp;subsidiary, Gold Royalty.&nbsp;Garofalo has also joined the advisory board of GoldMining.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Randy Koroll<\/strong>&nbsp;has resigned from his CFO role with&nbsp;<strong>Gold Rush Cariboo<\/strong>;&nbsp;<strong>Brian Stecyk<\/strong>&nbsp;has also resigned from the board.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jose Tomas Letelier<\/strong>&nbsp;has retired from his role as director of corporate affairs and sustainability with&nbsp;<strong>Los Andes Copper. Ignacio Melero<\/strong>&nbsp;will be joining Los Andes to fill the vacancy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Michael Lavigneis<\/strong>&nbsp;now president and a director of&nbsp;<strong>Magellan Gold; Gregory Schifrin<\/strong>&nbsp;has also joined the board.<\/p>\n<p>As of Sept. 1,&nbsp;<strong>Paolo Toscano<\/strong>&nbsp;will be joining&nbsp;<strong>Marathon Gold<\/strong>&nbsp;as VP of projects.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Robert Doyle<\/strong>&nbsp;has been appointed CFO and corporate secretary of&nbsp;<strong>Medallion Resources<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Meryllion Resources<\/strong>&nbsp;has announced changes to its management and board:&nbsp;<strong>Ben Gelfand<\/strong>&nbsp;has resigned as a director and as CEO;&nbsp;<strong>Frank Kordy<\/strong>&nbsp;has resigned as a director and as interim CFO and corporate secretary;&nbsp;<strong>Jeremy Edelman<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>David Steinepreis<\/strong>&nbsp;have been appointed as replacement directors, and&nbsp;<strong>Guy<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Charette<\/strong>&nbsp;has been named an additional director. Edelman has also been named the company\u2019s CEO while Steinepreis has been appointed CFO;&nbsp;<strong>Michael Kozub<\/strong>&nbsp;is now corporate secretary.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alastair Brownlow<\/strong>&nbsp;has been named CFO of&nbsp;<strong>Midnight Sun Mining<\/strong>, replacing&nbsp;<strong>Wayne Moorhouse<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Minera Alamos<\/strong>&nbsp;has hired&nbsp;<strong>Chris Sharpe<\/strong>&nbsp;to serve as the company\u2019s VP of project development; Sharpe will start on Sept. 1. The company has promoted&nbsp;<strong>Federico Alvarez<\/strong>&nbsp;to the COO role.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Max Keogh<\/strong>&nbsp;has been appointed project manager for&nbsp;<strong>NV Gold\u2019s<\/strong>&nbsp;Exodus gold project;&nbsp;<strong>James Maxwell<\/strong>&nbsp;has joined the company\u2019s newly established Exodus technical committee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Samantha Shorter<\/strong>&nbsp;is now the CFO and corporate secretary of&nbsp;<strong>Osprey Gold<\/strong>, replacing&nbsp;<strong>Jasmine Lau<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ian Harcus<\/strong>&nbsp;is now the CFO of&nbsp;<strong>Prime Mining<\/strong>, replacing&nbsp;<strong>Simon Anderson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Christopher Bradbrook<\/strong>&nbsp;has stepped down from his roles as president, CEO and director of&nbsp;<strong>Superior<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Gold<\/strong>; Bradbrook is the founder of the company and has been its president and CEO since 2017.&nbsp;<strong>Tamara<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>Brown<\/strong>, a director of the company, has assumed the interim CEO role.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Board moves include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Jonas Lauren Norr<\/strong>&nbsp;is now on the board of&nbsp;<strong>Crest Resources<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alex Klenman<\/strong>&nbsp;has joined&nbsp;<strong>Cross River Ventures<\/strong>&nbsp;as a director.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Blair Wallace<\/strong>&nbsp;has been appointed to the board of&nbsp;<strong>Eco Oro Minerals<\/strong>, and will serve as co-executive chairperson, together with&nbsp;<strong>Courtenay Wolfe<\/strong>, the current co-executive chair.
