Newly formed\u00a0Metso Outotec\u00a0has closed the acquisition of\u00a0Davies Wear Plate Systems, an Australia-based\u00a0fastener\u00a0and wear\u00a0monitoring\u00a0technology provider,\u00a0which extends the company\u2019s wear lining portfolio and capabilities.<\/p>\n
The acquired technology includes fasteners featuring a\u00a0unique locking mechanism that\u00a0does not require traditional studs and nuts\u00a0and, as a result, allows\u00a0faster\u00a0and\u00a0safer maintenance\u00a0work.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Davies\u2019 portfolio\u00a0also\u00a0includes wear\u00a0monitoring\u00a0technology, which provides\u00a0real-time forecasts of wear and the expected timing of upcoming liner change-outs.\u00a0This\u00a0monitoring\u00a0solution\u00a0can be fitted to any metallic or ceramic liner,\u00a0independent of its attachment systems.<\/p>\n The newly acquired technology is already used by major mining companies, including\u00a0Rio Tinto,\u00a0BHP\u00a0and\u00a0Fortescue Metals\u00a0in Australia.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n \u201cThis acquisition supports our target to offer comprehensive and unique solutions for the entire wear lining value chain,\u201d Sami Takaluoma, president of the consumables business area at Metso Outotec, said in a release. <\/p>\n \u201cWe are eager to introduce these advanced solutions globally to our customers; we now have the market\u2019s widest range of optimized wear protection solutions, tools and services.
