{"id":1197884,"date":"2020-07-24T13:41:30","date_gmt":"2020-07-24T18:41:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/?p=1030753"},"modified":"2020-07-24T13:41:30","modified_gmt":"2020-07-24T18:41:30","slug":"ambler-district-access-road-approved-in-alaska","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/juniorminingnews.com\/?p=1197884","title":{"rendered":"Ambler district access road approved in Alaska"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The US Bureau of Land Management has approved the development of the northern route to provide access to the Ambler&nbsp;mining&nbsp;district in Northwest Alaska.<\/p>\n<p>According to South32 and Trilogy Metals (TSX, NYSE: TMQ), partners in Ambler Metals, the Record of Decision (RoD) approves the development of the northern, or \u201cA\u201d route, which is to be a 211-mile-long gravel private access road in the southern Brooks Range foothills to provide industrial access to the Ambler Mining District. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote alignright\">\n<blockquote>\n<p>South32 contributed $145-million to the JV and Trilogy all the assets, the two most advanced being the Arctic and Bornite&nbsp;projects<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Ambler Metals is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/trilogy-metals-south32-jv-creates-ambler-metals\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">JV between South32 and Trilogy focused on the polymetallic volcanogenic massive sulphide<\/a> (VMS) style deposits of Ambler. South32 contributed $145-million to the JV and Trilogy all the assets, the two most advanced being the Arctic and Bornite&nbsp;projects.<br \/><ins><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.miningweekly.com\/adcentre\/rv\/mw\/www\/delivery\/ck.php?oaparams=2__bannerid=2663__zoneid=789__cb=10e8e11aa2__oadest=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.menar.com%2F\" ><\/a><\/ins><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The development of the road will unlock the world-class economic potential of the region by allowing greater access to the district and the potential development of the Arctic project, which is in a remote area of northwest Alaska,&#8221; Trilogy Metals said in a press release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to continuing our partnership with Trilogy to unlock the value of the project\u2019s high-quality base and precious metals resources, working together to advance it through the current study phase,\u201d South32 CEO Graham Kerr said.<\/p>\n<p>The $799.6-million Arctic&nbsp;project&nbsp;currently has a mine life of 12 years.
