{"id":1192453,"date":"2020-06-26T08:20:00","date_gmt":"2020-06-26T13:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/?p=1027982"},"modified":"2020-06-26T08:20:00","modified_gmt":"2020-06-26T13:20:00","slug":"great-atlantic-launches-exploration-campaign-at-keymet-property-in-new-brunswick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/juniorminingnews.com\/?p=1192453","title":{"rendered":"Great Atlantic launches exploration campaign at Keymet property in New Brunswick"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Great Atlantic Resources (TSXV.GR) announced that it has started its 2020 exploration program at the Keymet precious metal &#8211; base metal property, located in northeast New Brunswick, Canada.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In a press release, Great Atlantic said the 2020 program will focus on gold exploration in the southwest to central regions of the 3,400-hectare property, where it has identified exploration targets based on historical work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReported historic highlights in these regions include a reported trench chip sample of 2.5 g\/t gold over 6.1 metres length, rock grab samples up to 4.3 g\/t gold and soil samples of 217 and 325 ppb,\u201d the release states.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-medium\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Great-Atlantic-launches-exploration-campaign-at-Keymet-property-in-New-Brunswick_1-300x215.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1028085\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Great-Atlantic-launches-exploration-campaign-at-Keymet-property-in-New-Brunswick_1-300x215.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.mining.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/Great-Atlantic-launches-exploration-campaign-at-Keymet-property-in-New-Brunswick_1.jpg 674w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption>Historic Keymet mine. <em>(Image courtesy of Great Atlantic Resources).<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>To give the summer campaign a head start, the Vancouver-based miner already conducted some prospecting and rock &#8211; soil geochemical sampling in the southwest to central regions of Keymet to define trenching and drilling targets.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Later on, it will carry out geophysical surveys for the regions it is currently working on to further define exploration targets.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGreat Atlantic is also planning exploration during 2020 in the northwest region of the Keymet property with the focus being gold,\u201d the brief reads. \u201cSince acquiring the property, the company has discovered gold-bearing float and gold in bedrock (in drill holes and trenches) in this region of the property as well as veins containing high-grade zinc, lead, copper and\/or silver.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Keymet is located near Bathurst. Polymetallic veins were mined during the 1950s in the northern region at the historic Keymet Mine.
