Pan American Silver (TSX: PAAS) has announced<\/a> that operations have resumed at its\u00a0Dolores\u00a0and\u00a0La Colorada\u00a0mines in\u00a0Mexico, following the restart of its Shahuindo,\u00a0La Arena,\u00a0San Vicente\u00a0and Manantial Espejo operations, initiated in May.<\/p>\n

The mines are initially operating at reduced capacities to accommodate new protocols in response to covid-19, Pan American said. <\/p>\n

Pan American is also currently awaiting regulatory authorization to resume the Huaron and Morococha operations in\u00a0Peru. <\/p>\n

The world’s second-largest primary silver producer had suspended normal operations<\/a> at its mines in\u00a0Mexico,\u00a0Peru,\u00a0Argentina\u00a0and\u00a0Bolivia\u00a0in\u00a0March to comply with mandatory national quarantine measures.<\/p>\n

The Timmins West and\u00a0Bell Creek\u00a0mines in\u00a0Canada\u00a0have continued to operate at 90% capacity.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“We are proceeding with a careful approach to restarting operations, as we work towards restoring full production levels at our operations while protecting the health and safety of our people,” CEO Michael Steinmann said. <\/p>\n

Pan American withdrew its 2020 operating guidance on\u00a0March 12, 2020, given the uncertainties related to the pandemic.<\/p>\n
