{"id":1187356,"date":"2020-05-29T13:53:09","date_gmt":"2020-05-29T18:53:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/resourceworld.com\/?p=58311"},"modified":"2020-05-29T13:53:09","modified_gmt":"2020-05-29T18:53:09","slug":"botswana-diamonds-recovers-over-100-macro-diamonds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/juniorminingnews.com\/?p=1187356","title":{"rendered":"Botswana Diamonds recovers over 100 macro diamonds&nbsp;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Botswana Diamonds\u00a0PLC<\/strong> [BOD-AIM, BSE] announced that it has concluded the processing of two bulk samples taken from the Marsfontein diamond development project in the\u00a0Limpopo Province\u00a0of\u00a0South Africa. \u00a0The samples comprised 58-tons of fresh high-interest kimberlite and 62-tons of kimberlitic material from one of the residual stockpiles, known as &#8216;Dump E&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>87 macro diamonds were recovered from the fresh kimberlite giving a modelled grade of 50 cpht. (carats per hundred tons)<\/li>\n<li>24 macro diamonds were recovered from Dump E giving a modelled grade of 16 cpht.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Grades are quoted at a +1.5 mm screen bottom size cut off<\/em><\/p>\n<p>James Campbell, Managing Director, commented:\u00a0\u201cThis bulk sampling campaign, which was carried out with the company&#8217;s royalty mining contractor\u00a0Eurafrican Diamond Corporation, had two objectives.\u00a0The first was to test the grade of the fresh kimberlite and the second was to confirm the grades of one of the mine dumps. Both were achieved, and proof of the fresh kimberlite grade paves the way for further exploration work on Marsfontein to target potential blows.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe kimberlite grade is aligned with those achieved at Klipspringer mine and\u00a0Thorny River, which are both nearby, indicating the considerable extent of the kimberlite dyke system. The Dump E material was predominantly a mix of M8 kimberlite and dolerite.<\/p>\n<p>Both samples were treated at\u00a0Eurafrican Diamond Corporation&#8217;s\u00a0processing facility.\u00a0They were subjected to primary and secondary crushing, pan plant concentration, grease and x-ray recovery and jigging with a nominal bottom cut-off of +1.7mm.\u00a0These tailings have been retained for future analyses, as required.<\/p>\n<p>The grade modelling was undertaken by\u00a0Interlaced Consulting.
