Mining gets shareholder nod for Semafo merger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Endeavour Mining (TSX:EDV) shareholders on Thursday voted overwhelmingly in favour of the <a aria-label=\"previously announced acquisition (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/endeavour-buys-rival-semafo-creates-one-of-west-africas-top-gold-miners\/\" >previously announced acquisition<\/a> of fellow Canadian gold miner Semafo in a deal worth C$1 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Pursuant to the agreement, Endeavour will indirectly acquire all Semafo common shares on the basis of 0.1422 of an Endeavour common share for each outstanding Semafo share.<\/p>\n<p>The combined entity would become the biggest gold miner in West Africa with estimated annual production of one million ounces.<\/p>\n<p><a aria-label=\"Earlier this month (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/canada-may-review-imminent-endeavour-mining-semafo-merger\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Earlier this month<\/a>, Endeavour was notified by the director of investments under the Investment Canada Act (ICA) that the Innovation, Science and Economic Development Minister was considering whether to order a national security review of the transaction under the ICA.<\/p>\n<p>The company said it would work with the director to address any outstanding questions or concerns, though neither Endeavour nor Semafo was aware of any reasons for the notice.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister will have until June 25 to consider whether to order a
