{"id":1181289,"date":"2020-04-29T06:05:56","date_gmt":"2020-04-29T11:05:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/?p=1022130"},"modified":"2020-04-29T06:05:56","modified_gmt":"2020-04-29T11:05:56","slug":"condor-gold-lands-enviro-permit-for-mestiza-pit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/juniorminingnews.com\/?p=1181289","title":{"rendered":"Condor Gold lands enviro permit for Mestiza pit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nicaragua-focused Condor Gold (LON:CNR) (TSX:COG) <a href=\"http:\/\/ca.condorgold.com\/news\/condor-gold-receives-permit-high-grade-mestiza-open-pit-increasing-total-permitted-open-pit\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">has been granted an environmental permit<\/a> for the development and exploitation of the Mestiza gold asset, a complementary open pit to the company\u2019s flagship La India gold project, in the country\u2019s west.<\/p>\n<div class='d-flex justify-content-center d-xs-block d-sm-block d-md-none'>\n<div id='div-gpt-ad-1561499308230-0'><script>googletag.cmd.push(function() {googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1561499308230-0');});<\/script><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The high-grade Mestiza deposit hosts<br \/>\nmore than 100,000 ounces of contained gold resources and is one of the two<br \/>\nsatellite pits to the fully permitted La India, which is slated to produce<br \/>\n80,000 to 100,000 ounces of the precious metal per year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen added to the high-grade La India open pit, Condor has just over 1 million ounces of gold open pit mineral resources, including mineral reserves permitted for extraction,\u201d the company\u2019s chief executive, Mark Child, said in the statement. <\/p>\n<p>He noted that Mestiza has double<br \/>\nthe gold grade compared to La India. It is also located within easy trucking<br \/>\ndistance (less than 4km) to the firm\u2019s planned and already permitted processing<br \/>\nplant. The facility will have a capacity of up to 2,800 tonnes per day.<\/p>\n<p>With the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/condor-gold-updates-estimates-for-la-india-mine-to-include-feeder-pits\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Mestiza and America feeders in operations<\/a>, Condor Gold would be able to churn out bout 120,000 ounces annually during a seven-year mine life.<\/p>\n<p>The miner staked concessions in<br \/>\nNicaragua, Central America\u2019s largest country, in 2006. Since then, mining has<br \/>\nsignificantly taken off in the country due to the arrival of foreign companies<br \/>\nwith the cash and expertise to tap into its reserves.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, the government of Nicaragua granted Condor Gold the 132.1 km2 Los Cerritos exploration and exploitation concession, which expanded the La India project concession area by 29% to a total of 587.7 km2. <\/p>\n<p>Condor also attracted a partner \u2014 Nicaragua Milling. The privately held company, which took a 10.4% stake in&nbsp;the company in September, has operated in the country for two decades. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mestiza is one of two feeder pits to La India gold project.
