{"id":1180239,"date":"2020-04-23T15:13:39","date_gmt":"2020-04-23T20:13:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/?p=1021568"},"modified":"2020-04-23T15:13:39","modified_gmt":"2020-04-23T20:13:39","slug":"mining-people-great-panther-mining-tarachi-gold-trilogy-metals-frontier-lithium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/juniorminingnews.com\/?p=1180239","title":{"rendered":"MINING PEOPLE: Great Panther Mining, Tarachi Gold, Trilogy Metals, Frontier Lithium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Key moves in the mining sector<\/em><\/p>\n<div class='d-flex justify-content-center d-xs-block d-sm-block d-md-none'>\n<div id='div-gpt-ad-1561499308230-0'><script>googletag.cmd.push(function() {googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1561499308230-0');});<\/script><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>Ruben Verzosa<\/strong>, the CEO of&nbsp;<strong>Arcpacific Resources<\/strong>, has passed away after a brief illness \u2013 the board has not yet appointed an interim CEO.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Elena Tanzola<\/strong>&nbsp;has been appointed CFO and corporate secretary of&nbsp;<strong>Essex Minerals<\/strong>&nbsp;with&nbsp;<strong>Patrick Harford<\/strong>&nbsp;named VP of business development.&nbsp;<strong>James Harris<\/strong>&nbsp;is now a director of the company with&nbsp;<strong>Chris Andrews<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Wilson Su<\/strong>&nbsp;stepping down from the board.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Randall Chatwin<\/strong>, the VP and associate general counsel of&nbsp;<strong>B2Gold<\/strong>, has been appointed to the board of&nbsp;<strong>Fremont Gold<\/strong>; Chatwin replaces&nbsp;<strong>Paul Reynolds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rob Henderson<\/strong>&nbsp;has been appointed president and CEO of&nbsp;<strong>Great Panther Mining<\/strong>.&nbsp;Henderson is a professional engineer with 35 years of experience in operations, capital projects, and mining finance; he was most recently president and CEO of&nbsp;<strong>Amerigo Resources<\/strong>.&nbsp;<strong>Jeffrey Mason<\/strong>, the company\u2019s interim CEO and chairman of the board, has stepped down from both roles but will continue to provide consulting services to the company.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>David Garofalo<\/strong>&nbsp;is now board chair; Garofalo was most recently president and CEO of&nbsp;<strong>Goldcorp<\/strong>. In addition to Garofalo,&nbsp;<strong>Joseph Gallucci<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>Alan Hair<\/strong>&nbsp;have joined the company\u2019s board of directors.&nbsp;<strong>Meghan Brown<\/strong>&nbsp;has also joined as VP of investor relations; Brown was most recently VP of investor relations with&nbsp;<strong>Leagold Mining<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Darin Wagner<\/strong>&nbsp;has resigned from the board of&nbsp;<strong>Palamina Corporation<\/strong>&nbsp;for personal reasons.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lorne Warner<\/strong>&nbsp;is now the president, CEO and a director of&nbsp;<strong>Tarachi Gold<\/strong>; Warner is a professional geoscientist.&nbsp;<strong>Michael Konnert<\/strong>&nbsp;has stepped down from the board but remains an advisor to the company.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Oliver Andrews<\/strong>&nbsp;has joined the board of&nbsp;<strong>Thor Explorations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>On June 1,\u00a0<strong>Tony Giardini<\/strong>\u00a0will assume the role of president and CEO with\u00a0<strong>Trilogy Metals<\/strong>. Giardini has been a director of the company since 2012, and will continue as an executive director. He was most recently president of\u00a0<strong>Ivanhoe Mines<\/strong>.\u00a0<strong>James (Jim) Gowans<\/strong>\u00a0will continue as interim president and CEO until the end of May and will remain a director.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andre Gauthier<\/strong>&nbsp;has joined the board of&nbsp;<strong>Typhoon Exploration<\/strong>&nbsp;with&nbsp;<strong>Leo Patry<\/strong>&nbsp;stepping down as a director.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Frontier Lithium<\/strong>&nbsp;has received the discovery of the year award from the&nbsp;<strong>Northwestern Ontario Prospectors Association&nbsp;<\/strong>(NWOPA).
