{"id":1177731,"date":"2020-04-13T16:29:23","date_gmt":"2020-04-13T21:29:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/?p=1020162"},"modified":"2020-04-13T16:29:23","modified_gmt":"2020-04-13T21:29:23","slug":"jaguars-pilar-mine-achieves-record-production","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/juniorminingnews.com\/?p=1177731","title":{"rendered":"Jaguar\u2019s Pilar mine achieves record production"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jaguar Mining (TSX: JAG)\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"announced (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jaguarmining.com\/en\/investors\/news-releases\/2020\/jaguar-mining-reports-21-008-ounces-produced-in-first-quarter\/\" >announced<\/a> on Monday that it had its best production quarter in Q1 2020 since the end of 2017.  <\/p>\n<div class='d-flex justify-content-center d-xs-block d-sm-block d-md-none'>\n<div id='div-gpt-ad-1561499308230-0'><script>googletag.cmd.push(function() {googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1561499308230-0');});<\/script><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The company reported consolidated production of 21,008 ounces of gold compared to 16,365 ounces in Q1 2019, an increase of 28%, in a fourth consecutive quarter of sustainable production.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/jaguar-111.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1020174\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/jaguar-111.jpg 556w, https:\/\/www.mining.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/jaguar-111-300x226.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 556px) 100vw, 556px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Pilar gold mine in Minas Gerais, Brazil, set a new production record with 11,521 ounces, an increase of 30% compared to 8,840 ounces in Q1 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The Turmalina underground mine, also in Minas Gerais, had gold production of 9,486 ounces, an increase of 26% compared to 7,525 ounces in Q1 2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn this quarter, as the mines improved production, we began seeing improvements in grade, Jaguar CEO Vern Baker said in a media release.<\/p>\n<p>The company also implemented a covid-19 action plan to eliminate unnecessary travel as well as work from home protocols wherever possible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe operated for most of March under our action plan, which is currently allowing us to move forward with the majority of our 2020 plans intact,\u201d Baker said. <\/p>\n<p>Midday Tuesday, Jaguar\u2019s stock was down 2% on the TSX.
