{"id":1170751,"date":"2020-03-10T15:29:12","date_gmt":"2020-03-10T21:29:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/?p=1016696"},"modified":"2020-03-10T15:29:12","modified_gmt":"2020-03-10T21:29:12","slug":"equinox-leagold-merger-complete","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/juniorminingnews.com\/?p=1170751","title":{"rendered":"Equinox-Leagold merger complete"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Equinox Gold (TSX: EQX NYSE: EQX)&nbsp;and&nbsp;Leagold&nbsp;Mining Corporation announced Tuesday they have completed their business combination, merging to create one of the world&#8217;s top gold producing companies operating entirely in the Americas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class='d-flex justify-content-center d-xs-block d-sm-block d-md-none'>\n<div id='div-gpt-ad-1561499308230-0'><script>googletag.cmd.push(function() {googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1561499308230-0');});<\/script><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The deal,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/canadas-equinox-gold-buys-smaller-rival-leagold-in-578-million-deal\/\" >announced in December<\/a>, adds\u00a0Leagold\u2019s\u00a0four mines in Mexico and Brazil to Equinox\u2019s portfolio, consisting of two mines in California, US, and one in Brazil, creating\u00a0an America-focused gold miner with a market capitalization of about $1.75 billion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/equinox-leagod-merger-approved-creates-1-75bn-gold-miner\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"C$769.3 million-transaction (opens in a new tab)\">C$769.3 million-transaction<\/a> (about $584m), Leagold shareholders will receive 0.331 of an Equinox share for each share they own and will hold 45% of the combined entity, which will keep the Equinox name. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have created a major gold producer by combining the assets and leadership teams of Equinox Gold and\u00a0Leagold, with a peer-leading growth profile and powerful financial, technical and operational management,\u201d\u00a0Ross Beaty, Executive Chair of Equinox said in a press\u00a0release.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEquinox Gold now has six producing mines, two development projects, two expansion projects and the financial capacity to fund its development plans,\u201d Beaty&nbsp;said in a press release.&nbsp;
