href=\"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/pdac-2020-coronavirus-weighs-on-mining-outlook\/\" >impacted<\/a> by the coronavirus outbreak.<\/p>\n<div class='d-flex justify-content-center d-xs-block d-sm-block attendees. <\/p>\n<p>The annual PDAC Convention in Toronto is the world\u2019s premier industry event, bringing together investors, analysts, mining executives, geologists, students, and government officials. <\/p>\n<p>This year, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau returned, making him the first sitting prime minister to appear for two consecutive years. <\/p>\n<p>Highlights from <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"PDAC 2020 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pdac.ca\/communications\/press-releases\/press-releases\/2020\/03\/04\/march-4-2020-pdac-2020-convention-exceeds-23-000-attendees\" >PDAC 2020<\/a> include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minister of Natural Resources, Seamus O\u2019Regan, announced the next phase of the Canadian Minerals and Metals Plan (CMMP);<\/li>\n<li>Prime Minister Trudeau <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"announced (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/trudeau-says-mining-can-help-fight-climate-change\/\" >announced<\/a> the federal government will be promoting the adoption of on-road to off-road electric vehicles, including vehicles used in mining applications;<\/li>\n<li>Ontario Premier Doug Ford and Minister Greg Rickford announced Ontario will develop road access in northern Ontario to service First Nations communities and potentially develop the Ring of Fire project;<\/li>\n<li>Catherine Raw, Chief Operating Officer at North America Barrick Gold Corporation, discussed the recent spate of M&amp;A in the gold mining sector, how it differs from that of the past, and the potential implications this has on investment and
