{"id":1169176,"date":"2020-03-03T15:23:49","date_gmt":"2020-03-03T21:23:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/?p=1015917"},"modified":"2020-03-03T15:23:49","modified_gmt":"2020-03-03T21:23:49","slug":"fireweed-shares-soar-on-yukon-road-upgrade-agreement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/juniorminingnews.com\/?p=1169176","title":{"rendered":"Fireweed shares soar on Yukon road upgrade agreement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fireweed Zinc (TSXV: FWZ) announced Tuesday a major boost for its flagship Macmillan Pass property in Yukon, with an C$71 million <a href=\"https:\/\/fireweedzinc.com\/news-media\/news\/release\/index.php?content_id=171\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"agreement  (opens in a new tab)\">agreement <\/a>to upgrade roads in the area.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class='d-flex justify-content-center d-xs-block d-sm-block d-md-none'>\n<div id='div-gpt-ad-1561499308230-0'><script>googletag.cmd.push(function() {googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1561499308230-0');});<\/script><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Yukon government and the Ross River Dena Council (RRDC) First Nation have agreed on bridge replacement and safety improvements on the North Canol Road and resurfacing of 59.5 km&nbsp;(about 37 miles) of the Robert Campbell Highway.&nbsp; The project has an estimated capital cost value of about C$71 million.<\/p>\n<p> The agreement brings the North Canol Road upgrades under the umbrella of the Yukon Resource Gateway Project, which is a C$360 million commitment by Canadian Federal and Yukon Territorial Governments to fund building and upgrading of resource project roads in Yukon, Fireweed said. <\/p>\n<p>Shares in Fireweed surged over 25% in Toronto on Tuesday.
