Another big find, a 176 carat diamond, was also recovered that block in the past few days.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote alignright\">\n<blockquote>\n<p>So far in 2020, the operation has produced six diamonds greater than 100 carats<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;Lucara is extremely pleased to be starting off 2020 with the recovery of two, large, high quality diamonds that builds on the positive momentum generated following the completion of a strong <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/lucara-diamond-sales-beat-expectations-in-fresh-sign-of-market-improvement\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">fourth quarter sale in December<\/a>,\u201d chief executive Eira Thomas said in the statement.<\/p>\n<p>The finds follow last month\u2019s announcement of a partnership between the Vancouver-based miner and fashion house Louis Vuitton, which will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/louis-vuitton-is-turning-the-worlds-second-biggest-diamond-into-jewellery\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">turn Sewel\u00f4 into a fine jewellery collection<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Karowe, which began commercial operations in 2012, yielded<br \/>\nlast year more than 20 diamonds larger than 100 carats, eight of them exceeding<br \/>\n200 carats.&nbsp;So far in 2020, the operation has produced six diamonds<br \/>\ngreater than 100 carats, Lucara said.<\/p>\n<p>The company is close to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/lucara-diamond-focus-bostwana-mine-year\/\" >completing a feasibility study<\/a> into potential underground production and extension of Karowe
