Since 2007, the company has been dependent upon repeated cash injections from board Chairman\u00a0John Warnock<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0William Hambrecht<\/a>, father of former\u00a0Salon<\/em>\u00a0CEO Elizabeth Hambrecht.[30]<\/a>[31]<\/a>[32]<\/a>[33]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0During the nine months ending in December 31, 2012, these cash contributions amounted to $3.4 million, compared to revenue in the same period of $2.7 million.[34]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0In December 2016 and January 2017, the company was evicted from its New York offices at 132 West 31st Street, a block from\u00a0Madison Square Garden<\/a>, for non-payment of $90,000 in back rent.[35]<\/a>[36]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0In February 2017, Spear Point Capital invested $1 million into Salon, taking a 29% equity stake and three seats on the company’s board.[37]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0As of April 2019, the company had failed to file its form 10-K for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2018.
