to expand an existing tailing storage facility at its Ravenswood gold\u00a0operation in in north Queensland state.<\/p>\n<div class='d-flex justify-content-center'>\n<div in-pit tailings storage, part of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/resolute-extends-life-queensland-gold-mine-three-years\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">broader mine expansion project<\/a>, which will provide Resolute with the ability to safely storage waste for the operation\u2019s entire 10-year life.<\/p>\n<p>Resolute managing director and<br \/>\nchief executive, John Welborn, said all major approvals for the plan to expand gold<br \/>\nannual production to 200,000 ounces over the mine life were now in place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith available gold resources of almost six-million ounces, decades of operational excellence in open pit mining, efficient processing infrastructure, low cost grid power, and a stable skilled local workforce, the Ravenswood Expansion Project (REP) has obvious potential to deliver considerable economic benefits to shareholders, the local community and the Queensland government,\u201d Welborn <a href=\"https:\/\/clients3.weblink.com.au\/pdf\/RSG\/02170616.pdf\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">said in the statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Perth-based miner said in September<br \/>\nthat the first stage of the mine expansion had already started, with the<br \/>\nrecommissioning of the third grinding mill at Nolans processing plant under<br \/>\nway.<\/p>\n<p>Once complete, Resolute will be able to return to a processing rate of five million tonnes per year Ravenswood, located about 95km southwest of Townsville.<\/p>\n<p>The company expects the mill<br \/>\nrecommissioning will be fully operational by the end of the current quarter.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All major approvals are now in place for an
