The convoy, escorted by military personnel, comprised five buses transporting\u00a0national employees, contractors and suppliers, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.semafo.com\/English\/news-and-media\/news-releases\/news-releases-details\/2019\/SEMAFO-Update-on-Attack-on-the-Public-Road-Between-Fada-and-Boungou\/default.aspx\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Semafo said in a press release (opens in a new tab)\">Semafo said in a press release<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sermafo&nbsp;is a Canadian-based gold producer with two mines, Mana and&nbsp;Boungou&nbsp;in Burkina Faso. It also has three projects in the exploration phase:&nbsp;Bantou,&nbsp;Nabanga&nbsp;and Korhogo.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The company said the&nbsp;Boungou&nbsp;mine site remains secure, but&nbsp;operations&nbsp;have been suspended&nbsp;out of respect to the victims and those impacted.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur sincerest sympathies go out to the families and colleagues of the victims. Our priority is their safety, security and&nbsp;well being.
