{"id":1133338,"date":"2019-08-19T08:20:54","date_gmt":"2019-08-19T13:20:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/?p=999584"},"modified":"2019-08-19T08:20:54","modified_gmt":"2019-08-19T13:20:54","slug":"benchmark-to-acquire-lawyers-gold-silver-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/juniorminingnews.com\/?p=1133338","title":{"rendered":"Benchmark to acquire Lawyers gold-silver project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Benchmark Metals (TSXV: BNCH) reached a definitive agreement to acquire a 100% interest in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/benchmark-receives-work-permit-for-lawyers-project-in-northern-bc\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Lawyers gold-silver property (opens in a new tab)\">Lawyers gold-silver property<\/a>, located in British Columbia\u2019s Golden Horseshoe.<\/p>\n<div class='d-flex justify-content-center'>\n<div id='div-gpt-ad-1561499308230-0'><script>googletag.cmd.push(function() {googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1561499308230-0');});<\/script><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>In a press release, the Edmonton-based miner said the deal is pursuant to a share exchange agreement that contemplates a proposed business combination with PPM Phoenix Precious Metals Corp.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote alignright\">\n<blockquote>\n<p>By 1989, the (former) Lawyers underground gold-silver mine was operating and produced 171,200 ounces of gold and 3.6 million ounces of silver over a four-year period<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n<p>As a result, PPM will become a wholly-owned, debt-free subsidiary of Benchmark, holding a 100% interest in the Lawyers property.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are excited to have accelerated Benchmark\u2019s acquisition of a 100% interest in the past-producing Lawyers Gold-Silver Mine and the historically underexplored regional land package where we see great potential,\u201d Benchmark\u2019s CEO, John Williamson, said in the media statement. \u201cThe 2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/benchmark-metals-stock-jumps-10-on-new-drill-results\/\"  rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"exploration program (opens in a new tab)\">exploration program<\/a> will continue to focus on expanding existing mineral resource zones within the highly prospective regional-scale (+)20 km Lawyers Trend while testing new discovery targets with anomalous gold-silver indicators across the 127 km<sup>2<\/sup> property.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Under the terms of the agreement, Benchmark has to complete a cash payment of $250,000, issue 12 million common shares on a pro-rata basis in exchange for all PPM common shares;
