{googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1561499308230-0');});<\/script><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The company behind the project is Australia\u2019s GroundProbe and according to its executives, the idea is to provide services throughout North and South America in Spanish, Portuguese and English.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In a press release, GroundProbe explained that 45 specialised geotechnical engineers work at the <g class=\"gr_ gr_4 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling multiReplace\" id=\"4\" data-gr-id=\"4\">centre<\/g> monitoring live slope stability data and reacting to alarms, reporting them to mining companies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve witnessed a boom in Brazil for continuous, real-time monitoring of tailings dams, with a huge increase in demand for our remote, 24\/7 geotechnical expertise,\u201d GroundProbe\u2019s CEO, Brian Gillespie, said in the media brief, referring to what has happened in the South American country following the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"collapse of a dam (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/tragic-deja-vu-vales-dam-break-leaves-dozens-of-brazilians-under-mud\/\" >collapse of a dam<\/a> at Vale\u2019s C\u00f3rrego do Feij\u00e3o iron ore mine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe saw it as an absolute necessity to bolster our offering and extend our support services from Asia Pacific to the Americas,\u201d Gillespie added.<\/p>\n<p>According to the exec, the Santiago remote monitoring centre is already monitoring many tailings dams, a massive hydro-electric dam and even a
