{"id":1130962,"date":"2019-08-06T08:25:58","date_gmt":"2019-08-06T13:25:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mining.com\/?p=998500"},"modified":"2019-08-06T08:25:58","modified_gmt":"2019-08-06T13:25:58","slug":"lithium-australia-reports-high-grade-lithium-mineralisation-at-youanmi-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/juniorminingnews.com\/?p=1130962","title":{"rendered":"Lithium Australia reports high-grade lithium mineralisation at Youanmi project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lithium Australia NL (ASX: LIT) reported that initial assay results of its maiden RC drilling programme within the Youanmi project area in Western Australia show significant widths of high-grade lithium mineralisation.<\/p>\n<div class='d-flex justify-content-center'>\n<div id='div-gpt-ad-1561499308230-0'><script>googletag.cmd.push(function() {googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1561499308230-0');});<\/script><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>In a media statement, the company explained that the campaign was designed to test down-dip extensions of outcropping lithium-bearing pegmatites where rock-chip samples yielding up to 4.2% Li2O had been identified and lepidolite <g class=\"gr_ gr_3 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling multiReplace\" id=\"3\" data-gr-id=\"3\">mineralisation<\/g> observed in RC drill cuttings.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote alignright\">\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cInitial results suggest Youanmi could provide critical local feedstock for our lithium-cathode and battery business units\u201d &#8211; Adrian Griffin, Lithium Australia\u2019s Managing Director <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe first batch of assay results has reported significant widths of high-grade lepidolite mineralisation hosted in pegmatites,\u201d the press release reads. \u201cSolid results include 8 m @ 1.39% Li2O from 8 m, and 7 m @ 1.42% Li2O from 20 m.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So far, Lithium Australia has completed 54 RC holes for 2,455 metres on the 3 kilometres x 200 metres lithium target. According to the miner, the extent of known lithium-bearing pegmatites has been extended by this maiden drilling programme. Mineralisation is shallow and remains open down dip and along strike.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The West Perth-based firm has an option to acquire full rights and title to three exploration licences at Youanmi.
